Meet Dr David Nossel
Dr David Nossel graduated from Wits Medical School in 1989. After practicing as a general practitioner in a large medical centre, Dr Nossel has opened his own practice focusing on children and adults with cognitive and neuro-developmental delays and concerns, including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Throughout his high school and medical school careers as well as during his early days as a medical practitioner Dr Nossel had been searching for his unique personal calling. As part of that search he embarked on a spiritual journey which took him to Jerusalem for close to two decades. There he became a Rabbi and returned to his native South Africa to be a community leader.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
ADHD is characterized by a child or adult’s inability to remain focused or attentive. The child or adult may also have excess energy. Whereas many may struggle with these issues to some degree, when a person is unable to function adequately because of them, therapeutic measures need to be taken.
ADHD is usually treated with medications that enhance the person’s ability to focus and reduce the hyperactive behaviour.
Autism Spectrum Disorder
ASD is defined as the presence of at least two of the following three problems in a person’s normal functioning:
Language delay/deficit; Lack of social engagement; Repetitive nonfunctional behaviors.
The treatment of ASD is commonly directed towards speech and behavioral therapies, and sedation should it be necessary.
